Want to turn kief into hash?
Then you can use a pollen press to make it.
We explain how to use a pollen press as a practical tool that is simple and easy to handle.

Hash block
What is a pollen press?
A pollen press is a simple tool.
You fill the press tube with cannabis material, apply pressure, and quickly get finished pieces of kief hash.
Hash is a form of cannabis that can produce a strong high.
Hash is created when the dried resin from cannabis flowers is pressed firmly for long enough.
Those resin glands are called trichomes, and pressing can turn them into coin-shaped pieces.
Want to build up a small stash of hash and looking for the right pollen press?
Thinking about turning your leftover flower into hash?
Then take a look at the best pollen presses of 2021!
The best pollen press in 2021
1. T pollen press

T pollen press
The T pollen press is especially easy to use and is made from high-quality stainless steel.
Using the force of the screw thread and the additional stainless steel cylinder, you apply pressure and press your cannabis.
To do this, add the pollen to the opened press, push the cylinder down, screw the press closed, and turn the handle.
The final density later affects the burn speed.
The advantage of the T press is that it can be taken apart and is very easy to clean.
The diameter averages 30 mm on the inside, with an inner length of 93 mm.
You can get a T pollen press for around 40 euros.
2. Aluminum pollen press
An aluminum pollen press is a little cheaper than a stainless steel pollen press.
The large, sturdy press has an extendable handle, making this type of pollen press especially suitable for processing larger amounts of material.
You add the material to the opened press and turn the handle until you reach the desired density.
The aluminum pollen press is not only very straightforward to use, it is also very easy to clean.
Average dimensions are around 14 x 8 cm, with a press chamber of about 2.2 x 7.5 cm.
Aluminum pollen presses are available from as little as 10 euros.

3. Rosin pollen press
What is rosin hash?
Basically, it is a solventless cannabis concentrate made with pressure and heat.
With a pollen press, you can press resin without much difficulty.
Moisture is removed from the pollen and firm pieces are formed, often called coins.
A somewhat newer form of pressing is rosin pressing, which is also quick and simple.
The resinous cannabinoids are extracted from the plant material with the help of heat and pressure.
No solvent or alcohol is required, so the process avoids solvent residues and unwanted impurities.
You can find high-quality rosin presses from various manufacturers.
However, they are very expensive and cost several hundred euros on average.
Pollen press prices
Pollen press prices vary a lot.
You can get inexpensive small pollen presses for under 20 euros.
Rosin presses, on the other hand, start at around 150 euros and can cost close to 1,000 euros in high quality.
Think carefully about what you need a pollen press for.
Do you only want to make a little hash now and then?
Then an affordable pollen press will probably be enough, maybe even a small pocket pollen press.
What do you need a pollen press for?
Want to make high-quality hash yourself at home?
If you normally use a grinder, you may already know the pollinator, a very fine screen that lets you collect valuable trichomes.

Grinder for breaking down cannabis
Trichomes are another term for pollen or kief.
They are used to make blocks of hash.
You can also smoke trichomes without processing them into hash first.
Since you are interested in a pollen press, though, you are probably looking for a method to turn your kief into hash.
A pollen press is a small but highly efficient tool for pressing flower material.
A pollen press normally consists of a T handle, two end caps, and an insert.
But why make hash with a pollen press at all?
For one thing, hash keeps very well and creates a different kind of high.
You can store it pressed into blocks for several months, ideally in an airtight container.
Pollen presses save space and offer a great way to store those precious trichomes.
How does a pollen press work?
A pollen press works very simply.
Follow these steps:
1. Open the lower part of your grinder and remove the pollen inside.
Make sure your kief is nice and dry.
2. Assemble your pollen press and remove one of the end caps and one pin.
The opening of the pollen press should face upward.
3. Add the kief to the pollen press and close the press with the pin.
4. Using manual pressure, screw the end cap on as tightly as you can.
Use only your hands, no screwdriver or similar tool.
Leave your kief in the press for at least 8 hours.
For a better result, you can tighten the end caps a little more every hour.
5. Unscrew the end caps and remove the pin.
You can now carefully remove the hash from the pin.
Your pellet will most likely look similar to a coin.
The thickness depends on how much material you used.
The color of the hash block will be light brown, perhaps even dark yellow.
You can now either use the block for smoking or store it airtight for later.
Summary
Pollen presses come in many shapes and sizes.
The screw threads of pollen presses are usually CNC-milled or made from stainless steel.
Most pollen presses are very robust and deliver what they promise for a long time.
The small tool fits into any bag and is easy to transport.
