How do you clean a glass pipe?
There are different types of glass pipes, and they need different kinds of cleaning.
Glass pipes can get dirty quickly with frequent use.
To prevent that, you should clean your glass pipe regularly.
For a small glass bong, a matching screen is useful, ideally also made of glass.

Screens are essential for cleaning a glass bong.
Especially with a bong that has a pull-through bowl, where the contents land in the water after the hit, a glass screen helps keep valuable material from slipping through.

- with boiling water
Cleaning a glass pipe with household alcohol
First, remove any remaining material from your glass pipe.
It is important to use cleaning alcohol, meaning clear alcohol.
You can pour it into a plastic bag and place the glass pipe inside.
Make sure the pipe is completely covered by the alcohol.
The pipe should sit in the alcohol for 8-10 hours.
Letting it soak overnight is an easy option.
The next day, rinse your pipe with clean water and finish cleaning it with a cotton swab.
Make sure the glass pipe dries completely before you use it again.
Cleaning a glass pipe with boiling water
Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil.
Then reduce the heat so the water is only simmering.
Now place your glass pipe inside.
Again, make sure you remove residue beforehand.
Tap out the pipe as well.
Let the glass pipe soak in the simmering water for 20-30 minutes.
Then you can take it out and check whether any residue remains.
If so, repeat the process with a fresh pot of water.
Afterwards, you can finish cleaning the glass pipe with a pipe cleaner or cotton swab.
Note: with this method, a somewhat unpleasant smell may spread through the kitchen.
Also make sure you never place the glass pipe directly into vigorously boiling water.
It could crack. At the end, do not forget to clean the bowl completely as well.
